Blocking HIV's Attack

(Scientific American)

An illustration for Scientific American to open an article exploring treatments for HIV. This illustration depicts one of the potential treatments, whereby the protein projections on
immune cells (white) that HIV (red) normally attach to are removed so making them resistant to HIV's attack.

All the elements of the illustration were created out of paper and card, playing with different stocks to give a range of finishes.
